Most people filter their drinking water but never think about the water they shower in. In Oman, the main thing worth filtering out of your shower is chlorine.
Why there is chlorine in your water
Oman's mains water is disinfected with chlorine so it stays safe on its way through the network to your home. That is a good thing for drinking water. In the shower, warm water and steam make the chlorine easy to smell and feel, and many people find it leaves their skin feeling tight and their hair dry.
What a shower filter does
- Reduces chlorine and the chlorine smell
- Catches sediment and rust from pipes and rooftop tanks
- Depending on the model, reduces some dissolved metals (filters with KDF media)
With less chlorine in the water, many people find their skin and hair feel less dry within a couple of weeks. Results depend on your water and your routine.
What a shower filter does not do
