How often should a shower filter cartridge be replaced?

A common practical range is about 3–6 months, but the correct interval depends on the cartridge model, household use and incoming water. Always follow the service limit supplied with your cartridge. Replace it earlier if water flow stays low after cleaning the shower head, a chlorine-like odour returns, visible sediment increases or the cartridge blocks unusually quickly.
